The Carnival of Principled Government

In celebration of Liberty Day, Principled Discovery launched its very own blog carnival: The Carnival of Principled Government. Entries should uphold the founding principles of the United States, either directly or indirectly and may focus on historic or current events, trends or ideas. The specific principles are outlined in the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers and our other founding documents. The basic principles are:

Representational government
Unalienable rights (life, liberty, property)
Limited government
Local control
Personal responsibility
This isn't exhaustive. My readers who also use the Principle Approach will undoubtedly think of several (at least seven) and they are all relevant.

For anyone who does not normally read this blog and is unsure where I am coming from, this entry probably best summarizes my views on the relationship between the individual and the state as conceived by our founders.

Submissions may be made via the form at blogcarnival. Submitters will be expected to provide a link back to the carnival once it is posted...after all, no one will read it if no one knows about it!

The carnival will be posted the second and fourth Monday of each month, with entries due by 6PM CST the Sunday before. If you are interested in hosting, please contact me! Otherwise, the carnival shall take maternity leave with me and be put up as soon as I get back online.

The blogcarnival submission form says the next carnival is going to be in May 2008. That can't be right!

No, it's not right. The next one is Monday but I'm having difficulty getting blogcarnival to accept my date changes.

Is this another carnival that has bit the dust? I really enjoy it... I hope for a revival soon.
