I'm so not in the "in" crowd
After a cup of coffee...or two had an exciting time in New Orleans, hanging out with celebrities and such. I am really excited for her. And I'm glad it wasn't me.

Because most likely I would have turned to my husband and said,
Hey! That guy looks like...that guy. You know. The one from that movie. With all the fighting.
Then I would have gotten home and posted all my pictures to my blog and one of you would have said something terribly ridiculous like,
Hey! That's Brad Pitt! Why didn't you say anything about seeing him? Did he say anything?
And I'd have to say,
Yeah, I thought he looked like him, too, but I couldn't remember his name.
And you'd say,
No, he doesn't look like Brad Pitt. He is Brad Pitt.
And I'd feel like a fool.

Because I'm so not with it when it comes to celebrities.

LOL, if it weren't for all the paparazzi taking pictures of them I probably would have been too absorbed looking at the architecture to even notice them!

I happen to live in a little community with quite a few celebrities. I've seen a couple of the Lost actors, but for the most part, I'm oblivious. And I've never seen paparazzi around here. It's nice that those celebrities can have a somewhat normal life here, I think. Guess I'm not the only "out of it" person in my town. ;-)

I am so with you onthis one and living not too far from Hollywood, California I have walked by my share of celebs and not even noticed...only to have my campanion I am shopping or lunching with point it out. And even then I have a hard time really seeing them because they often look so different in person LOL

And my attitude doesn't help: Really? So what? They just people. What are you going to order?

Peace would be good...general famousness is one of the many parts of fame I can live without!

And I'm so glad I'm not the only one!

They have names? Really? I cannot remember the other moms names in my homeschooling group and now I am supposed to remember names of people that I only see on rare occasion on the big screen (did I mention rare?).

Sigh. I am with you on that one. I have heard tell that Oprah's mom lives out near where we used to live. I probably saw both of them, but I would have never known it and if I had, I would have forgotten that Oprah has a name.... However, I do know who Brad Pitt is. Way back when, my youngest SIL had a huge crush on him and I read a People magazine (1 time - only time I think I ever looked at one) in the work break room and it stated that he had hygiene issues (greasy hair, lack of regular baths, etc.). Well, it gave me something to harass said SIL about, thus I know who he is. But all the rest....well, if they were not in the brat pack of the 80's (aka Molly Ringwald), forget it.

A friend of mine in college had a crush on Brad Pitt. Which just goes to show you how out of it I was even then. I teased her because I didn't think there was anything there to have a crush on. Eeew. How was I to know he was the heart throb of my generation?
